When I was in China, we stayed in some beautiful hotels, there was a hotel near a great river. We were close to the beginning of the Gobi desert (Jiuquan, Gansu, China) and the river was lit on both sides with walkways on either side. We had been to see the half-moon lake and went to have dinner at a restaurant in the area. We got back to the hotel at around 10.30 pm and we normally would go for a walk around the area we were in at around 11 pm. We met at 11 pm and went down to the river to do some late-night QiGong but the walkway was quite busy so we decided to jump a fence into a small leafy park. China is a very cosmopolitan place where people in the warmer months wander around enjoying the nightlife and late-night markets. It is very beautiful in the evening and considering the days are warm you would want a nice walk at night to cool off.
We were in the park that had a trellis covered in leaves and it was quite beautiful, we did our QiGong and what blew my mind was the energy coming off of the plants. We were literally bombarded by Qi from the plants that had been stored from the heat of the day. It was an amazing feeling and we didn’t train for long but I couldn’t believe that these plants could be so full of energy. I think our late-night walks in some very different towns made me realise how safe China is, we were in one town that was more of the old Communist style. It was very ordered and the street lights were quite decorative, the police car I saw reminded me of an American-style police car and the town was quite small. It was near some of the salt lakes (Haixi Mongol and Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai, China). It was quite interesting wandering around in the middle of the night in a more Communist-style area.
I always felt safe, and even when we stayed in a very Communist-style hotel with some haircuts going on everyone was friendly and we just pottered around hoping our VPNs could get through to Western internet platforms and we could post about our adventures which I managed to do but some areas were so remote that there were no signals for data. China is a beautiful place and there is some really good energy going on there. Australia is also full of really beautiful energy and most places are because of nature which is the source. QiGong can give you the tools to connect to that energy that is everywhere. I enjoyed those late-night walks in China, I thought the hot baths were a treat too. People in China really know what is good, going for a hot bath in the late evening is a great way to relax before bed. I hope things settle with Covid and the world opens up again. I wish there were late-night hot baths in my area.
