A few years ago I decided to research schizophrenia. I read some thesis, novels, essays and looked at drawings by patients. I wanted to find ways to bring something of my research into my practice. I found the drawings interesting. There was in some drawings lines being used to denote energy. I never really used linework that much in my own practice so I introduced linework and was surprised at the results. I never spoke to people I knew about my intentions so some people thought I had adopted this type of thing due to me having schizophrenia. It was quite intentional and now I use linework a lot. I almost feel you can’t have enough lines.
