Well the weather was quite severe across the whole of the east coast, flooding and damage across two states. Locally the wind was strong, the beach was belted by three deep sets of surf which you will rarely see and the rain was relentless. It has only started to die down here, the wind has settled and the rain has slowed. We were lucky but I heard emergency vehicles quite a few times and the SES was driving around the local area assessing damage. I only dared leave the house twice once for a quick shop and this afternoon to get some fabric for my daughter. It wasn’t so bad this afternoon as the severity had eased but it wasn’t pleasant either. When I went for a shop the wind was quite high, a crane at a local development site was turning like a weather vane which wasn’t confidence building but I suppose otherwise it may have just been blown over onto the local homes. Our leak was pretty isolated and we got half a bucket of water in two days so it wasn’t too bad. I emailed the strata they need to find the entry point, it only leaks in high winds. Well it could have been worse for us and for a lot of people it was extreme. So far no fatalities though so people listened to the warnings and stayed inside.
