My weekend feng shui studies are always interesting. The class teachings are non linear as there are students at advanced, intermediate and basic levels. This style of learning is difficult. What I found was I could make connections between the advanced material and other levels so I got an overall understanding in time. There is a long way to go for any student because essentially it is said to take at least six years for a good understanding. I am in my third year now and I am far from mastering feng shui but I have made progress. When I first started I was completely lost and it took a while to make the connections I needed to understand the basic mechanics. A few students gave up and will turn up for the martial arts side of the training. I can understand the struggle. Yet I prefer the non-linear method. Everyone learns differently though.
