I had gone on about finish and all of that a while ago, what really clarifies it is just being on a certain level. In that I don’t want to labour the finish of my paintings. I am afraid that if I do the paintings could be worse. In saying that each painting improves. It is more about practice to achieve a professional finish.
Another factor to consider is the stretcher which should be professional and at the moment they are medium tier stretchers. They are still pretty expensive though not as much as high level ones. I need to be patient and work through this stage before I jump the gun. The painting is improving and my finish is improving which is good. By the time I get to the next stage I will have it all happening. It is a few years off or if I keep improving it could be a few months. The object is quality and that is the crux. Less work and quality.
