A friend who is an accomplished painter came to my house and looked at my new paintings. He isn’t the type to give false praise. He is quite honest. He said they were good. He knows my work. The reason he understood them as good is because they take my skills as an abstract painter and my skills at figuration and meld them successfully. That is why I have had so much anxiety about them. My work on paper is better but it is simple work so harder to stuff up. These new paintings are complex in comparison. I feel a lot better about them now.
