My youngest daughters mother has a very aesthetic style of photography and art while having a prankster style social media image. This is just how artists get attention these days. Lush uses this as the basis of his practice, a prank critique and a reference of the media we all use prolifically. It definitely draws attention to the artist and it is pretty much free marketing. People want to be entertained and if you have the content you can draw in followers. It is a full time job though so if you are making money out of it you won’t mind as much. My ex partner spent a year getting it off the ground, a lot of work, a lot of pranks, a lot of followers. It is smart and I respect it as a viable way to market but I will probably never go down this path seriously. Personally try to limit social media myself though sometimes you could wonder if I am.
