Something that is telling about the world we live in is a statement from the Russian mercenary group Wagner which I will paraphrase as saying that Western elites are perverts and think the Third World are scum as well. 

If we look at China and the largest trade project in the world which is BRICS you see that China is helping lift the Third World out of poverty through the BRICS pact. Russia is offering its support to BRICS by denouncing the Western world and its exploitativeness.

As an example of elites saying the Third World are scum you have purportedly left wing artists who are anti-colonial but are financially supported by elites getting sad that Afghanistan won a war against the US when if they weren’t in the pockets of wealthy elites should be happy a Third World country repelled a brutal invasion by Western armies.

Instead these well kept artists literally denounce the Third World struggles citing cultural differences as though they are looking down from above. The literal gods of values that must be disseminated through the use of military aggression. To me that shows that artists who are well meaning are themselves unaware of their own exploitation by elites and willingness to not change the world. If the world did truly change their art would have no meaning or point. Exploitation and domination is what feeds the system.

As an example some sound artists within the last few years were funded by DARPA to do sound recordings of the ocean. The artists saw their work through the lens of ecological research and making an archive of a changing world from climate change. Yet you take the data and essentially DARPA being a military research organisation looks at it through a whole other lens that has nothing to do with ecological concerns or the concerns of art. 

So if we take a broad view, China is painted as a threat, Russia is seen as a threat and most Western artists would agree. The main reason they agree is that China and Russia threaten an exploitative world order but it’s wrapped in proxy issues that Western powers created. A lot of artists are paid to care about their work issues by the elites who like DARPA allow the research and happily pay for it. Yet really under the surface of entertainment lies a world that refuses to change and truly liberates the masses rather than liberate the select few.
