Walks in Haixi Mongol and Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture

When I was in China, we spent a lot of time wandering around late at night in different towns and cities. Normally after a big dinner we would go to the hotel then set off for a good walk. Some cities never slept. It was summer and there were markets open and people everywhere. Other smaller towns only had a handful of people out and the streets were quiet. China is very beautiful. There were rivers with the streams lit up near bridges. There were signs for hot springs that were nearby. When we were in some smaller towns we went to the local hot springs and relaxed for a few hours. I have said this before, the food in China was the best I have ever had in my whole life. There are two top cuisines in the world, French and Chinese. For me there is one, Chinese as I haven’t been to France to taste test at this stage. Even when I was in small towns I always felt safe. People were friendly and hospitable. Some people tried to speak English and I had no idea how to speak Mandarin though some people tried to talk to me in Mandarin.

When in Dayi County we stopped at Xueshan Avenue into a restaurant that seemed so odd to what I am used to but the seating was fantastic and the food was great. He Min Taoist temple was nearby and we went there before setting off to our hotel in Huashuiwan. When in Datong Huizutuzuzizhixian in Xining we wandered around the streets at night for hours. There were a lot of police around controlling traffic mainly. The night markets are great for shopping. We went through Datong Hui and Tu Autonomous County where I remember seeing numbers and Chinese characters written on walls by hand. We went through Menyuan Hui Autonomous County and saw snow high in the mountains. Before going down into beautiful grass scenery with the KunLun Mountain ranges  in full view. I will continue more of this at a later stage because we went through a lot of areas over twelve days. I think next time I am in China I will take photos of the hotels so I know exactly each town because some I didn’t take photos.Though the place we wandered around that came to mind that was quiet was Haixi Mongol and Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in a small town. Very beautiful to be honest.
