A poem
SKY ABOVE BRICK
A patch of sky above the brick
Draws my eyes into its breadth
An antenna pointing applies depth
The sky isn’t what it seems
Its colour contrasts in starless nights
You see nothing but a great distance
It is the end of the Earth and beginning of space
It seems to be a meeting place perhaps
Where ends meet the never ending
In fact it is a place of mystery
That is juxtaposed behind the profile of buildings
The sky it seems holds it all together
While buildings separate us
