Luxury holiday in the Caribbean

I picked up a bug from my Mum’s aged care and when I went to bed the next night as it came on early morning I was transported into a fever dream logic. The first thing I thought about was digital tracking and how in our minds we can’t tell the difference between the thought of being tracked and being tracked. Like I said this was like the beginning of a long night which I am glad got easier as my Chinese herbs wore off.

I had thoughts of VPN settings as the previous day an app asked if I wanted to try VPN settings for security. I was thinking about the VPN defaulting to the Middle East. Missiles travelling long distances and locking in on a target. Then it was all about comfort, the logic was, open the window, lie still and I cycled in and out of sleep. The key was opening the window which if it was hotter and wetter would have been a bad idea with mosquitos.

I was locked into a smaller logic circle all about my position on the bed, where I turned and yes it went on and on but I actually managed to sleep pretty well. I had the day off work so rested and grabbed meds. The fuel crisis is really only starting and it’s hitting hard. Like a freight charge that was around $50 is now $70 and it’s going to climb. Last night as I was getting into my fever dream I felt worried just how far this crisis can go and so far freight is a clear indicator with fuel levies.

Fertilizer and every other petrochemical byproduct is going to slam the economy so hard but I am more concerned how long the US will stoke this fire. Even if the US pulls out there is a lot of pain to come. The positives are if anyone acts too many to mention but the stubborn nature of the petrodollar and the firebrand nature of the US falling further and further into debt make Australia’s outlook so dire. Covid will look like a luxury holiday compared to this.
