Aesthetics and control

You will hear people say we need to heal the planet or we need to create world peace yet the idea isn’t the problem, it is the ‘what’ in what needs to be done. Then you have the ‘how’, how is it done. When I see these ideas through heavily curated ‘feel good’ feeds where it’s all about taste and aplomb. There is no room in their feed for multiple views or ideas, how can they have the authority to know ‘what or how’ needs to happen?

Obviously you have aesthetics of engagement but what if the aesthetics are also the issue? How can aesthetics matter? Yet what you allow in or out has an effect. We have to stick to the simplest way into our potential audience leaving everyone else behind. This can’t be helped, and sadly there are no universal answers to this other than the need to separate and contain. This nods strategically to containing ideas.

Ideas like healing and coming together have to be clearly defined yet how can they be in an arrangement of closed systems? In closed systems you simply have strata. Each system doesn’t talk to each other. This amplifies control but it also leads to loss of control. If various parts of the system can’t communicate then the system ceases to work. Yet it keeps going as new strata are created.

As an example I saw an article that said something along the lines of ‘link to early dementia through screen use’. Yet this seems like some kind of reasoning that is informative when really (and this won’t sell newspapers) why can’t people admit that everything can lead to early dementia? That seems vague but it gets into the fact that there are so many factors leading to early dementia not just screens.

The complexity is swept aside for a literal ‘article’ of information as nobody can think outside of closed systems of reasoning. When really we need to understand that everything is connected but also try to understand the sheer complexity of that rather than as a baseless closing point or formless point to make. If you admitted that everything to some extent is poisoned you would need to fix the problem.

Rather than fix problems which would shutter every main business and create potential for healing we need to keep our ideas well clear of contamination even if it is aesthetic. This sounds like a conspiracy psychosis and an impossible task to achieve but we also have to admit we can and do make our own problems and forge our own enemies. So as we perpetuate empty ideas and flawed logic we are simply just making noise in the system even if it sounds nice.
