What is interesting to note is the way we can separate or compartmentalise reality into branded objects. Our stomachs become a focus of gut health. We are then told what criteria is able to achieve it.
With TCM which I only know a little of, it is somewhat more direct. Say if you eat meat everyday you would think depending on how it is prepared, the quantity and type would affect your mood. Forget about gut health, what drives the whole body.
If you just ate vegetables, once again, types, preparation and amounts all make themselves apparent on health. Rather than worry about gut health which is just an example, it is better to look at your diet. Then the most ignored is seasons as we can grow food in any season now. Yet this is more important than just gut health.
If I eat lamb everyday I can get aggressive so I don’t eat it everyday. There has to be balance and you always have to make adjustments.
That means things are always changing, weather, seasons and so on. So you have to always adjust. There are times when you need to be aggressive but that is rare, the point of this post is to say don’t compartmentalise the body. Breaking things into a logic of parts is only favourable to transactions. One part for another part. This piece of logic connects to these other fabricated solutions.
What is real is the weather, seasons and fresh food. Your body can’t find balance by buying into one part of your body, in this case your gut. All of the parts interact within and without. Really there are no boundaries overall but that is just the interactions of different things. I will elaborate on other examples at a later time because there is a lot to unpack in regards to processed foods. But that is whole other subject.
