Worked half the day then went to sign some forms for Mum. Went to the New Yen Yen supermarket at Chatswood on the way back. Grabbed millet, rice, veggies. Went to the post office to grab a book that arrived today. It is a book featuring film artists who use found footage and pirate film to create new films. There are around 40 artists in the book. The main reason I grabbed it was to read Soda Jerks insights but so far there is a lot to love. Sometimes reading artists writings can be interesting, the self promotion aspect can at times seem overbearing but the drive and momentum to make work that is unique and illegal in that the footage is used without permission is admirable and inspiring.
I personally feel that most of the work I have seen by Soda Jerk is without doubt some of the most daring and fun. Their older work is brilliant and recently disappeared online. Their newer work is so ridiculous and amazing, an uppercut to conservative values and political posturing. A little bit of truth in a web of lies and deceit. It isn’t that I fully align to every idea in their work but they are a counterpoint needed that I align to in that at least it isn’t the same sad song played over and over in the echo chambers we find ourselves in. It is thinking that is turned on its head, rewired, retaliation to quote a lyric by Chuck D “playing that same damn song” yet the song has changed to a new damn song.

Very interesting gonna watch “Hello Dankness” tonight. Check it out!!!
Part political satire, zombie stoner film, and Greek tragedy, the work is also informed by the encrypted memetics of contemporary internet culture….. interesting!
Sadly its not art, a unique point of view, insightful or enlightening, its just two girls getting paid by media matters to make ham fisted propaganda because it supports their cause. No wonder you see americans absolutely losing their nut when their candidate loses its so hypnotizing.
this in no way reflects on you Master Doer, but a spade is a spade!
