A female friend was saying how I have had an issue with the femme fatale, I tried to explain that actually I have no issue with it but as a 51 year old man (a practicing Taoist too) it isn’t something that enriches my world. Also I didn’t want to be a creep or have anything to do with that world. It isn’t that I see female sexual expressions as negative, it is just that I feel my understanding and knowledge is on a spiritual plane.

I am more interested in intelligence, practical self empowerment and self reliance than sexual expression. Some people say sexual expression is a spiritual union of male and female and I am not arguing against that. Yet in the realm of Taoism bodily fluids are life energy and that transforms into higher levels of consciousness through the application of Qigong. So bodily fluids transform into Qi and rise to the brain.

So essentially the knowledge that I have is counter to the use of bodily fluids or sexual expression in that they are so important. A man for example will lose life energy and a woman gains life energy during sex. A man can be easily satisfied but a woman isn’t as easily. These discrepancies are part of a system based in the heart (desire). The heart is connected to the mind. To overcome desire you must control your heart.

The only reason I chose that road was because of my interests, I don’t expect people to understand that and Taoism isn’t about indoctrination anyway. From years of practice I overcame desire and I don’t think people having desire is a negative thing. I just try to say that this or that expression has little meaning in my world. I can’t expect people to understand but I feel I am more interested in the mysteries that are right under our noses.
