Hot mess

There was an article with a sound bite from a Sky News presenter saying that Dutton didn’t wage enough of a culture war in his campaign. In general most people are tired of the culture wars but I believe Dutton tried to get the culture wars going but most of what he said fell flat and never got off the ground. Why did that happen? I can’t say exactly other than my general understanding that people are tired of culture wars.

This is just from my own experience but we had a culture wars warrior in our work circles and it drove everyone crazy. He was so locked into his world view that he couldn’t deal with the reality he was immersed in. He couldn’t adjust or compromise in any way or in any form. He basically knew everything, the past, the present and the future were all locked into his mind.

There were no deviations, there could be no alternatives, he had become a living god. The knower of all. Everything was mapped and playing out exactly as it had been designed. It was terrifying, all knowing, inevitable and so after dealing with him for a year with no change in his hostile behaviours we had to enact some changes so there could be some harmony in the team again.

I suppose gods don’t need jobs anyway, they have better things to do. I am sure Dutton can get a job with people in his set, or maybe he can just sit in the sky throwing thunderbolts. I am in no way saying that every culture warrior’s complaints are baseless or that they are totally wrong but it is just when reality in its messiness needs to be hacked at, turned over, wrongs exposed you eventually realise that reality isn’t about ‘TRUTH’, it is basically a complex mess.
