Breaking the moron matrix

I went to the park after seeing my Mum and did some Qigong. I met a local TaiJi practitioner who does classes in Clovelly and we chatted. Sometimes half an hour of training in the park feels like hours have gone by. I was talking to a close friend the night before and he said he feels like Australia has corrupted him. In that Australia seems more focused on money than livability. I said to him you have potentially lost that connection to your native culture but have gained a lot of insight from being so alienated.

My friend was never welcomed with open arms into Australia, he was labelled a ‘wog’ and mostly humiliated for many years. He did adjust and find a niche but a lot of what he wanted and yearned for never eventuated. He wanted recognition mostly for his talents and to improve his lot. Currently his life is dominated by running a business that is heavily taxed with high overheads. His workload is spread over seven days a week, ten hour days are standard, work work work.

I went to a multicultural school and I found I got on better with the immigrants than those who had been in the country for generations. Most of the authority figures were cops who were members of the surf club. Any trouble making kids would get a punch in the face while nobody was looking. Phone books were popular with detectives so they could bash you without leaving bruises. White bred mentality but that doesn’t mean the Chinese people wearing I love Australia t-shirts and hats have cracked the moron matrix. The work is in progress.
