Barriers

No matter what understanding you have or don’t have, when you express things openly on your own you will always be a target of ridicule. That is just a given, once you know something of yourself it is best not discussed. Most people who dare to open their mouths will only do so when they have support from an institution or a higher source. If you don’t have the power yourself you have to borrow it. People can’t be independent or have a strong sense of self. You will be silenced, fragmented, and have to find the place you belong. You can’t just belong to humanity by default. Humanity is too large and complex. There are so many barriers to being a true self.

What I find gives me strength is nature and Taoism, yet I am culturally foreign to Taoism geographically. Yet I can practise forms wherever I am and have understanding. Maybe what I am understanding is foreign geographically and culturally. That is just another barrier. Barriers are everywhere, my body is a barrier. Yet things pass through, they connect, they stimulate and we share many common traits. I find strength then in the connection with nature and the misunderstandings from people. You find yourself misunderstood even in clarity. Perfection doesn’t exist. Understanding is limited to us, you and me and everything. You will always need to borrow from outside of yourself. It is a basic necessity for all life.

  1. Oh yes takes a while to sink in that we were never educated. Entrainment suggests a better descriptor. One only has to look into the word Kindergarten and its origins that are tied to the success of the Prussian state armed forces.
