Self control and discipline is the key but it can come on later in life for some people. When you are young you can fall victim to any number of traps. I remember a young artist from back in my art school days, actually a few different people as well who got hooked on heroin. The young artist found themselves in a difficult position as they didn’t realise the hold heroin would have on them. Another young man started living in an abandoned building in Waterloo and he had his own personal den of addiction.
For young men if it isn’t pornography twisting their minds, drugs, alcohol, aggression or whatever is telling them to lose control they have other young men on their case. The guy living in the abandoned building just stopped talking. What was actually worth saying when the thrills and amazing feelings were in his mind but on the outside he looked terrible. I know dudes who bounced back and became disciplined and worked on themselves. They rejected anything to do with the disrespect of women or disrespect of their own bodies.
They trained other young men in martial arts and made them aware of all of the traps that could basically stunt them and turn them into victims. They turned to God, they became tough men. Some people freak out when they meet men like that because people think they are hyper masculine but really they have overcome the things that held them back. Maybe you won’t see things exactly as they do but you have to respect them. They have woken up and finally seen better days. If people feel afraid of them the fear is simply their own misunderstanding. They survived and many didn’t.

Yes I believe I have qualified to be counted amongst such esteemed company. Its a great feeling to take control of your life. Exude unfettered strength from every pore to be sure of the path you are taking. I will always be that mercurial bozo, but a subjective framework and the concreteness of discipline and success are essential for any endeavor.
