We had a training day at work on metal and concrete. What I found interesting was one slide about how nature always tries to find the lowest form of energy. A circle is a good example of a low or stable energy state. There are no straight lines in nature except crystals for example. Corners tend to focus energy and corners can attract unstable energy. I found it interesting because I train a lot of circular movements from BaGuaZhang mostly but other forms as well. They are under the umbrella term of Qigong which some people think is a cult or something. I guess you could treat it as a cult if you wanted to but you would be missing the point. It is practical knowledge.
A few weeks back in Qigong class our trainer spoke about frequencies and the frequency of some BaGuaZhang moves. I have found the transitions between what are circular movements difficult and I only understand a small number of them. Yet I am addicted to the way the movement focuses my attention. The main point I want to stress is that the circular moves generate the most power which is a stable form of energy. Other moves tend to play with the energy and move it diagonally, forwards or backwards. These moves are not generating power but are like the weapon that can release the power.
