Put in the bin

You can argue about the rule of law and people following social norms, in a way that is fine in most situations. It is an old argument yet you need deviance and really deviance in the way of graffiti or vandalism isn’t as heavily penalised as what we call serious crime. Yet the way graffiti is associated with rubbish for example is a way to invalidate peoples efforts or self directed ideas that aren’t economic based. It is the lack of value associated to what is thought of as a mindless act or vandalism that highlights the lack of value of people in general.

For one to exist could be to have a book written about you or a movie made or win the lottery or get on a current affair program or some kind of mediated economic arrangement. To exist is tied into monetary value rather than the valued self. In Taoism for example the self is meant to be cultivated to make a person healthy mentally and physically. At least as far as practical Taoism is concerned which is the act of physical self cultivation. Money is not the goal of knowing ones self and if you look at current situations and tensions people are simply put in the rubbish bin, their flags, their culture, their history, their lives.

  1. We profane life to the point we are becoming the very disposable products we purchase off shelves. i.e. single use “sporks”.
