With self will it doesn’t stop you from connecting to something life giving. We are simply living within a cosmology that is more complex than one God. Nature is the most complex system that is eternal and it is part of you within and without.
Nature controls your life whether you are aware of it or not. Humans reflect nature and nature reflects us. We are connected, your self will is part of that. It is just knowing the right ways to connect through love and respect rather than through calamity and self destruction. Nature built you and that is part of the whole universe. It isn’t that I am pantheistic but the Tao wants you to find your true nature as nature is true.
