Someone met a young man recently who does a karate style that is related to Chidokan and they got talking about a hard style called Kyokushin. He was in his early twenties and was convinced women can’t fight Kyokushin style because they don’t have the body mass. This young man has never done Kyokushin but watches a lot of videos of this style on web platforms.
If you watch a certain video, the algorithm will supply similar videos. Say it is men fighting Kyokushin style you will inevitably see similar videos. So in a way your viewpoint is formed by what you see and then maybe you form an idea. The idea is formed by technology not experience. The idea seems supported by facts but it is supported by an algorithm.
My own understanding of Kyokushin is formed by actually doing it in the past. I also trained in the Chidokan style before that. Some of the hardest fighters are women, they are fast, flexible and difficult to fight. How do I know that? From actually fighting them and sparring against them. I didn’t watch algorithm fed meat heads on an endless pilgrimage into stupidity.
Women are flexible, fast, and in my experience quite merciless. I have had to tell women to just step back a little and not get too carried away in sparring. Most of the best martial artists are female but they don’t necessarily go looking for attention like men do. Men have more strength in general but strength is more of a burden than a help in most cases.
Women generally have flexibility and that trumps strength, my trainer for example is a very small man who does internal martial arts, he has had seven foot men come to fight him. Nobody has beat him and people have come from all over the world. He is very flexible (he is over 60) and that is how he gets a lot of his power. It isn’t strength. He is 60 but could beat down a crowd of 20 year olds without breaking a sweat. It isn’t strength. It is power.
Technology which is so supposedly futuristic has sent people’s minds back to the 1950s. The lunacy that has been unleashed by mass stupidity over the past decade or so is fed by algorithms that warp people’s minds and create ideas that don’t really exist. Yet everyone is convinced it is based in reality and they are somehow engaging with real issues.
The sad thing is when these warped ideas are played outside of the junkyard of algorithm fed culture wars and spill into what is left of reality you get more dumb stuff. As you can tell I am really hating technology and what it does to people’s minds. It doesn’t matter what side of the fence you are on, both sides are filled with sad cases.
