Sometimes my aerosol work and artwork in general for me can feel spiritual. There will at times be an energy that just carries me throughout the process of the work and it is effortless. Couldn’t say that about a lot of the pieces this year it has all been effort but have followed that energy. When something perfect comes along that just lets me feel that joy of expressive freedom I am so grateful. It just fills in the missing bit, tips the balance in my favour. It isn’t a mean or average but a distinct point in the process of creating. I feel as though now I really need that spiritual connection to make my new work. It has to be trusted to lead the way. It feels right just as much as the hard work of this year felt right but it is right now.
