Just read the essay “death of the author”, how good is it, I have heard it quoted so many times and never actually read it. It is short but to the point, not to say I fully understand it. Classic texts as defined by a writer, can’t say I’ve read that many classic texts but understand that the reader brings a whole lot to the table to interpret the different layers of meaning in the text to walk away with what they can interpret depending on the reader. So many writers are the reader, having to embody their piece but only the reader can make the connection. I really enjoyed that.
