Disconnection

I remember painting Mays lane in 2007 and coming against detractors who criticized my technical ability, but the piece wasn’t technical it was defined. It was defined by its disconnection. The piece was schizophrenia defined and displayed. It was hard to handle because the work was totally defined by its lack of connection and this was obvious. People didn’t get it, why can’t they look at something undefined? This lack of connection was not technically brilliant but simply a disconnected definition in need of a receptive audience. An audience who can see the lack as a positive, not a need.
